What to do if your flush plate or button sticks or won’t return
Flush buttons can become stiff or stuck due to debris behind the plate, incorrect installation depth, or wear on the spring mechanism. If you are experiencing the button remaining stuck down after flushing, a weak or incomplete flush, or the plate clicking but not activating the flush, the following steps can help to resolve the issue:
- Gently remove the flush plate from its frame.
- Wipe the contact points with a damp cloth.
- Ensure the actuator rods are cut to the correct length — too long can cause jamming.
- Refit the plate and test.
