What should I check when adjusting my shower door?

Misalignment or fatigue often causes shower doors not to close properly. If your door is hitting the frame, it has sagged or dropped, or you have noticed gaps between the seals, this can be remedied by adjusting or realigning your shower door. This can be done by completing the following steps:

  1. Check that both the top and bottom rollers or hinges are secure.
  2. Adjust the roller height or hinge tension until the door aligns vertically.
  3. Inspect seals for wear; replace if they no longer hold contact.
  4. Ensure no debris is trapped in the roller tracks.
  5. Clean all contact surfaces and re-test.

Tip:

Do not force a misaligned door shut — it can shatter the glass.
