My tap is constantly dripping - How do I fix this?
Generally, when a tap drips or overruns this would typically indicate debris between the ceramic discs of the internal cartridge. By performing regular maintenance on your cartridge, this can easily resolve this issue. We have prepared the following guide to take you through the maintenance process, you can remove and clean the existing cartridge or replace it for a new one.:
- Close the isolation valves, then turn the tap on to let any water drain.
- Pry off the decorative cap covering the hex screw, then use an Allen key to loosen and remove the handle.
- Use an adjustable spanner to unscrew the retaining nut.
- Remove the old cartridge.
- Insert new cartridge, ensure it is correctly aligned.
- Reassemble the tap, by reversing the steps above.
Still Dripping?
- Cartridge might not be seated properly.
- Possible scratched valve seat (rare in ceramic taps).
- Wrong replacement cartridge - Crosswater uses different sizes across models, you can find the correct one on our official spares website.
